That's right! I mistakenly believe that Mt. Toba is Tagawa, but I do not seem to correct it.
Awesome authentic ramen house. Very traditional style building with friendly staff. Ramen was tasty with the black miso an interesting highlight. Ordering is via a vending machine but there is an English guide with pictures available so very easy. There is no English in the outside of the building so it may look a little inaccessible for non Japanese speakers but once inside the staff were very helpful and clearly used to serving foreigners.
The best ramen I have ever had in my life. Went with the original miso with pork and added an egg to my ramen. Delicious thick broth and perfect noodles.Don’t listen to anyone else, they have an English menu and are incredibly friendly to foreigners.Definitely worth a wait if there is a line. Do no miss out on this while you are in Matsumoto!
Ramen here was pretty good. If you have a craving, there's the place to be.
The ramen here is amazing. You've got to be a little brave to go in as it doesn't look welcoming from the outside but the staff are friendly and they have a menu in English to save you from having to deal with the vending machine for your ticket. The beer is randomly expensive but the ramen is cheap and so delicious. Not a place to sit and savour a meal as they don't have too many seats at the counter but we'll worth the visit.
The black miso ramen was amazing!! A must stop when in Matsumoto:)
NO gaijin 外人 ! They dont seem to take foreigners anymore 🙄😂 If u like good Ramen go to Ippudo across the street. And they treat u very friendly even if you re a foreigner.
Great Ramen!
Ramen and gyoza were fantastic. Best we've ever had.
Very good. The noodle is different. The black soup is so good...
Amazing restaurant, specializes in ramen. Everything we ordered was very good and high quality. Staff are fast and efficient.
Miso soup is nice...Black one too strong for me but my gf like it.
The ramen was sooooo good! There was a short line when we went there so waited a bit.Soup was nice and rich. Highly recommended.
Had the black miso ramen, the broth was intensely savory and addicting. Nicely chewy noodles and juicy pork really topped it off.
Very good food. Tipically japanese style place. We had a great time.
Small and friendly ramen place - I am not a ramen connoisseur (my husband is) but wanted to try and it was nice. The gyoza were very crispy and tasty. I had the vegetarian Ramen soup (which came with pork) and it was a bit creamy for my taste but I think most people go here because they like that.
Rich flavor with a nice touch of burnt garlic smell. Recommend!!!
Great miso ramen! Had the Sakura and Black versions.
Good, Very good! A richer thicker broth and the noodles were thicker than what we have had in Osaka, Kyoto and Tokyo but a very nice change. Quick service and vending machine ordering, like Ichiran. Overall YUM!
Super friendly and welcoming of foreigners! Amazing ramen, with a nice selection to choose from, as well as side dishes (though we hadn't tried). We had a great time, overall a 5/5 experience.
delicious ramen.
We absolutely loved it!
Love the soup and minced pork. yummy!
Great ramen and best gyoza I've ever had.
Very delicious ramen for a good price. We were there shortly before it opened and there was actually a queue in front of the door so we thought it must be good - and it was.
Amazing ramen!
Very delicious Ramen an Gyoza. Lovely prepared and both pleasuring the eye and the taste. Prices are very good around 800 Yen for Ramen and 400 Yen for Gyoza. Come in time because or you may have to wait.
rich flavor ramen
Great place to eat! Fyi: you purchase your food orders from a vending machine nearby the door. The gyoza was very good, and the service was very quick.
Find this 2-storey ramen restaurant from google map. Tried 味噌 & 黑 plus fried dumplings. Both ramen are delicious. Noodles' nature are very good. Soup is perfect. Dumplings just OK. Buy tickets from vendor machine at the entrance, then they will show you your seat. Worth to try, very nice ramen. Will visit next time around Matsumoto. Most customer are local Japanese during my visit.
Normal quality without surprise.Pork meat is thick and soft but not tasty
Very rich favor noodles....love it...will return someday

The ramen here was super yummy. The price for what I got was really nice. The staff wee helpful and service was great. Nice place for dinner as lunch time usually has a really long line. Great place.
Mensho Sakura features Matsumoto-style miso ramen, and is located in a converted, old, narrow warehouse, with an attic serving as the second floor. Each ramen was rich in flavor and their noodles were on the thicker side. I had a black kuro-miso ramen with black, garlic sauce added in.
If I were to stay longer in Matsumoto I would eat here every meal! It was recommended to us by our hostel staff as ramen in this area is apparently mostly made with miso base. We had two types of ramen ( classic and with veggies) and both were super delicious, intense flavoured and very nice texture. Definitely to try
Got a curry (+dark soy?) ramen, was different but very tasty.
The best ramen we had during our trip to japan. We had to waited for the q but it wasn't long. The noodles soup was very rich. Gyoza was very tasty too. So good & highly recommended.
This place has seriously good ramen. An English menu is available and vegetarian ramen can be requested.
Amazing ramen in a nice little noodle shop! Highly recommended if you stop by Matsumoto!
There is an English manu with vendor machine. Soup is creamy and tasty. Love it.This set is 1100 for Ramen and 200 yen for drink. Gyoza peel is so thin and crispy. Pork inside is moist.
One of the best!
Rich flavors, simple and fresh ingredients. Very well balanced!!! Try it, your taste buds will like you for it.
Tastes strangely familiar - like minced pork noodle back home (Singapore) but in a thick miso paste - yum!
Good miso ramen not so salty oily. Noodle is very well cooked and with good portion. You have to line up for 10 minutes or longer to get in. It’s worth it.
Rich black miso soup noodle tastes great
Amazing ramen and gyoza at the bar
A small building with a traditional house shape located opposite of PARCO department store. Order with ticket vending machine but they have menus book with pictures. Taste is sooo good~ Their soup is richly and flavorful. No parking available
Lovely pork ramen.
Amazing ramen noodles the best we had in Japan
Excellent place to get tasty ramen. Be aware that it's quite popular bit has limited number of seats. This was my first experience in japan also ordering through the machine, they could not easily help me how to use it, but eventually they were able to assist me. (Put in the money and press what you would like to eat to get the tickets you need to give the staff.... simple enough).I recommend the one with the ground beef, delicious.
